Dark Green Bathroom Rug Set
This 'green monster' bathroom looks like a spa after its makeover
You'd never imagine the post-makeover bathroom was in the same space as the ugly green tiles and awkward layout.

Anissa Zajac and her husband jokingly referred to the bathroom in the home they purchased five months ago as the "green monster."
"It was old and dated and needed a major face lift," said the 42-year-old co-owner of House Seven design + build, a full service remodeling and design company. The couple, who purchased the 1954 Indianapolis home to remodel and sell, knew they had a lot of work ahead of them.
Besides the ugly green tile on the floor and walls, the long and narrow space was awkward, too. "It was compartmentalized into three units," she told TODAY Home. "The end two with a toilet and sink and then the square tub/shower in the center of the space." All areas were separated by vinyl partition doors.
To create more square footage, they created two new bathrooms by separating that space with a wall in the center — one for the master and one for the kids.
Zajac said she wanted to incorporate luxury elements into the new master bath, which led them to add a large soaking tub, double vanity and shower heads. "I also wanted the space to feel open and airy so I eliminated any walls or glass shower wall that would do that."
White subway tiles now line the walls, which is a beautiful contrast to the dark penny tile that covers the floor, while wood and natural accents add a touch of comfort and warmth.
The result is a spa-like setting that feels clean, bright and ... not green.
The bathroom was just one of the many projects the couple did to the home — in fact, they renovated the entire place in just eight weeks. Follow House Seven Design on Instagram to see more of their before and after makeovers.
